Save the date…. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM The Howard County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission will be holding its Annual  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on January 15, 2017 to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. County Executive Allan H. Kittleman has recognized the importance of this event to our community by making the organizing group a permanent county commission. The theme for this year is: “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream….What is yours?”

Our “Living the Dream Award”, is a key part of the celebration which will recognize an individual and a community, civic or religious organization that demonstrates the teachings, work ethic and legacy of Dr. King. The nominee should promote community involvement among diverse ethnic groups, regardless of economic, social or religious background, and be committed to humanitarian services and non-violence. The commission will consider those who perform volunteer services and live or work in Howard County.

The Award will be presented at the Commission’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Sunday, January 15, 2017, 2:00PM at Long Reach High School.
