Our “Living the Dream Award”, is a key part of the
celebration which will recognize an individual and a community, civic or
religious organization that demonstrates the teachings, work ethic and legacy of
Dr. King. The nominee should promote community involvement among diverse ethnic
groups, regardless of economic, social or religious background, and be
committed to humanitarian services and non-violence. The commission will
consider those who perform volunteer services and live or work in Howard
The Award will be presented at the Commission’s annual Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Sunday, January 15, 2017, 2:00PM at Long
Reach High School.
