Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman will be the keynote speaker, to provide an overview of the findings of 2023: State of the Maryland Economy and highlight the specific findings related to childcare and housing.

Her keynote will be followed by a panel of experts who will bring the Report's state data down to the local level. Confirmed speakers include Jennifer Jones, CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, Dan Pontious, Housing Policy Coordinator at the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, and Beth Morrow, Director of Public Policy at the Maryland Family Network. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions as we consider the importance of the childcare and housing business sectors to Howard County's economy – and how they relate to the economic security of low- and moderate-income Howard County residents, particularly women.
