Oakland Mills Cultural Arts Festival – October 5, 2013
It is that time of year again; the time to start planning the Oakland Mills Cultural Arts Festival. The festival is held every year on the first Saturday of October outside in the Oakland Mills Village Center. It is a FREE event and runs from 11 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
The weather is sometimes very warm, sometimes very chilly and sometimes just right. However, no matter what the weather is, you can be sure of a great time. There is wonderful, live, family entertainment in the Courtyard, included this year, Mambo Combo and Donegal Xpress, a little bit of magic with Turner, Dean of Magic and to end the day, a drumming circle with Jonathan Murray.
There are lots of good things to eat with barbeque and sweet treats. A children’s area complete with crafts, games, face painting and fun. And of course, there are crafters, community vendors, and school groups for you to peruse all while enjoying the outdoor ambience.
The Oakland Mills Festival is fun for the community of Oakland Mills and for all who come out to visit for the day. There are always smiles on faces and happy conversation. Whether you come and do a little browsing, do a little shopping, do a little eating, or do all three all while listening to great sounds from the Courtyard and meeting new friends, we welcome you.
If you want to be a vendor at the Festival, please feel free to contact Brigitta Warren, Event Coordinator, at 410-730-4610 or
