NonProfit Basics Series - Six Sessions

ACS and MD Nonprofits Educational Partnership brings this 6-part series to ACS Members at the MDNonprofit Member rate of $379, which includes training for two people from your organization, a savings of  $300!

This virtual-interactive six-part primer will help new nonprofit leaders learn the basics of what it takes to operate, sustain and grow a nonprofit organization. Based on Maryland Nonprofits’ best practices model, the Standards for Excellence. Topics covered include planning for impact, program evaluation basics, fundraising readiness, resource development planning, basic budgeting, risk management, human resource policies, the role of the board of directors, financial oversight, budgeting, fundraising regulations, and advocacy best practices for nonprofits.

• Session 2: Financial Management & Fundraising – March 16, 2023, 9:30 AM – 2:45 PM
• Session 3: Leadership - Employees and Volunteers – March 30, 2023, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Session 4: Leadership – Board of Directors – April 13, 2023, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Session 5: Fundraising Regulations and Compliance – April 27, 2023, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Session 6: Public Policy Advocacy and Public Affairs – May 11, 2023, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Those who attend all six sessions and complete the homework, will have all the requirements in place to apply for our Standards Basics Recognition, by the end of this course. If you apply for Standards Basics recognition and are successful, the cost of your application and first year’s license fee will be covered by this program (members-only).
